Our Philosophy
We believe in 'Sustainable Tourism' through Eco-friendly Practices. Our Philosophy is, 'Tourism for Development'. Mr. Furwa Jangbu Sherpa is one of the activists in the development of Sustainable Tourism Development in Nepal and also one of the promoters of Eco Trekking activities in Nepal.
Environmental Consideration
Wonderful environment of the Himalayas is also an extremely fragile one. Increasing population density and number of trekkers threatens to destroy the very beauty which attracts us in the first place. At Expedition to Himalaya, we are extremely environmentally conscious and aim to minimize our impact as much as possible.
As deforestation is one of greatest environmental threats, we do not have camp fires and use kerosene for cooking as an alternative fuel to wood. We also discourage trekkers from using wood-fuelled hot showers in lodges along the way. Many lodges, however, now provide solar hot showers, a far more eco-friendly alternative.
Garbage disposal is another major problem and some of the busier trails can, at times, appear strewn with litter. Our staff members are well motivated towards Eco-friendly practices. We carry out all our garbage, apart from that which can be safely and easily burnt at the campsite.
Our aim is to help protect and preserve this beautiful environment for future generations of trekkers to enjoy.

Safety: No Compromises

Adventure travel done appropriately with proper safety precautions are not risky in itself, but when safety measures are esteemed less, things can go wrong and minor sicknesses could turn out serious enough to be fatal. Our safety records are second to none. When it comes to keeping the overheads of our trips low, safety is one area we simply do not compromise.
First AidWe select our guides based on their technical proficiency, proven safety records, impeccable judgment, and supportive teaching styles. The guides are highly professional and are well-trained including in the first aid and hygiene, personal protection equipment, and what to do if an injury occurs. First aid kits are taken on all trips along with oxygen cylinders and PAC Bags. The itineraries are designed in such a way as to give you enough time for acclimatization. Furthermore, we provide a pulse oxymeter to facilitate acclimatization. The device measures oxygen saturation percentage in blood along with your pulse rate. This is the best way of preventing altitude sickness because we can tell at an early stage if someone is having problems with acclimatizing. Fair Price With Quality Service
Service, quality and fair prices – is the motto of our business. The packages we have offer unbeatable value for money. But you don't have to take our word on it - we just ask our clients shop around to other adventure companies to try to find a similar package at a better price. However, we do not compromise on quality to cut down the costs. Our edge over other international operators is that we are a Nepal based business that allows us to keep our overheads to a minimum. So we can offer the same facilities as those provided by a Western company at literally a fraction of the price. That about 40% of our bookings come from repeat business proves our performance when it comes to client satisfaction.

Personalized Service

Most trekking and hiking tour operators guarantee to run treks and hikes only when they get a minimum number of people. Our minimum requirement for operation is only two people, thus we can provide you a personalized service at a reasonable cost.

Staff Care

We recognize them as the pillars of the company. Even in our beginning days, we were the only company to take a stand against the exploitation of porters and guides that was rife in the industry (and to a large degree, still is). That most of our staffs from the beginning have stayed with us all this time proves our commitment for fair business policies. Our leaders, guides, cooks and porters work as a well-balanced team. We respect them, provide them insurance and equipment, guarantee them work, and pay them well.
